But then, you realize that it's not really funny. It's just plain horrifyingly awful. And the laughter you felt morphs into a groan.
Ultimately, you are left with a sense of utter perplexity. You question about the nature of it all. Was this a joke?
Or were we just simply unfortunate enough to witness this spectacle unfold?
A Disaster of Epic Proportions

Worst Day Ever
It all started with a terrible case of terrible hair. I couldn't figure it to look decent. As I was dashing out the door, I fell and landed all over myself. To make matters worse, I was totally late for school.
I arrived. My {boss|friend|was absolutely furious. I managed to explain, but it was a complete disaster.
The rest of the day was an absolute nightmare. Everything. I couldn'tconcentrate.
By the time I reached my destination, I was utterly defeated. This day, this terrible day will be forever remembered as the worst day ever.

It all started out horribly with a simple mishap/incident/screw-up. But then things went from bad to absolutely terrible. A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to throw your hands up.
